Education Point Instructor Policy


1. Purpose

This policy outlines the requirements and process for becoming an instructor on the Education Point platform, in alignment with Australian vocational education and training standards.


2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals seeking to become instructors on Education Point, including independent professionals and representatives of care organizations within Australia.


3. Instructor Eligibility Criteria
3.1 Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Relevant vocational qualifications at least to the level being taught
  • Current industry experience in the relevant sector
3.2 Skills:
  • Demonstrated competency in the relevant units of the training package being delivered
  • Ability to create engaging online content
  • Familiarity with Australian VET sector requirements
3.3 Additional Requirements:
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check (or equivalent, depending on state/territory)
  • Compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

4. Application Procedure
4.1 Initial Application:
  • Submit an online application form on the Education Point website
  • Provide detailed CV/resume highlighting relevant qualifications and experience
4.2 Document Verification:
  • Upload copies of qualifications and statements of attainment
  • Provide evidence of current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being undertaken
4.3 Sample Content Submission:
  • Develop a brief course outline aligned with a relevant Training Package (e.g., CHC Community Services or HLT Health)

5. Review Process
5.1 Initial Screening:
  • Education Point team reviews application materials for compliance with VET sector requirements
  • Verification of qualifications through training.gov.au
5.2 Interview (If Required):
  • Discussion of experience, teaching approach, and understanding of the Australian VET sector
5.3 Teaching Demonstration:
  • Candidates deliver a short online teaching demonstration aligned with Australian training package requirements

6. Approval and Onboarding
6.1 Final Selection:
  • Successful candidates are offered instructor agreements in compliance with Australian employment standards
6.2 Onboarding:
  • Orientation to the Education Point platform and relevant Training Packages
  • Training on compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2015

8. Instructor Support
8.1 Resources:
  • Access to current Training Packages and support materials
  • Regular updates on changes to VET sector requirements
8.2 Technical Support:
  • Dedicated support for course creation and delivery in compliance with Australian standards

9. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure ongoing compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2015 and other relevant Australian regulations.

By following this policy and procedure, Education Point aims to maintain high-quality instruction aligned with Australian VET sector standards, while acknowledging that we are not a Registered Training Organisation and do not offer accredited training.
